Go with Lord Stark? Or Go with Lord Umber?
Go with Lord Stark
"I will accompany you my lord. To continue to be your eyes and ears on the road to Riverrun." You said sincerely. Lord Stark smiles.
"I had hoped you would say that. I would continue to use your horsemen as an advanced guard and screen for the rest of my horsemen. Once we negotiate the crossing with Lord Frey, I want you to ride off first. Any sign of a loyalist army, send a rider back to me." Lord Stark says. You assent to his order, and he grips your wrist for a hearty shake.
The crossing is negotiated with unprecedented speed. Perhaps it was the impeding marriage of Lord Stark to the daughter of Frey's liege lord, Hoster Tully. After a modest fee, you and your horsemen are riding across the Twins with the flag of your holdfast and the banner of House Stark leading the way.
After almost a fortnight of riding you finally see the spires of Riverrun seated at the confluence of the Red Fork and the Tumblestone. Riders bearing the banner of House Tully ride out to greet you.
"Welcome to Riverrun my lord. Where is Lord Stark?"
"Not far behind. He should be here by noon."
"Excellent. Lord Tully is anxious for the ceremony to begin. Lord Arryn arrived yesterday with his army. I am Ser Brynden Tully, captain of the household guard."
You introduce yourself to Ser Tully.
"Can you arrange an honor guard for Lord Stark when he arrives?" You inquire.
"We can. I'll arrange for knights from the Vale and Riverlands to form a guard for Lord Stark's arrival. The wedding will take place tonight, and two days hence we shall march on the loyalists."
The wedding
