Go to the hospital with Shizune

Knowing that it’s futile to run away, you decide to go to the hospital with Shizune. As the two you walk leisurely along the village, you notice that she’s a bit tense. But strangely, the tension begins to leave her the closer the two of you get to the hospital.

You decide to ask, “So, is there something wrong that you’re not to tell me? Or you’re allowed to but want to wait for a better time?”

The woman’s mouth opens a bit before she finally understands your statement. “I’m sorry, Naruto,” she says while bowing her head a bit. While the gesture was a bit subdued for an apology, the fact that she is of a higher ranking made it more significant than what it is supposed to be. “The thing is, Tsunade-sama is betting her weekly stash for you to bolt away from me while on the way to the hospital.”

You give her an evil eye. “Really? You, of all people, encourage her to gamble?”

“That’s why I’m very sorry,” Shizune says while bowing again, this time deeper than before.

You scratch the back of your head in embarrassment. You are joking about being angry being used like that, but it seems that she take it too seriously. “Okay, let’s make it you treat me to dinner one of these days and we’ll call it even.”

You are surprised when Shizune puts her hands on your shoulders. “Really? You’ll forgive me?” she asks hopefully.

Turning away a bit, you manage to let out a “Yeah.”

Satisfied with your affirmative answer, the two of you resume your walk.

“You have grown so much in this few years, Naruto, that I barely know you” Shizune suddenly said. “Meanwhile, it seems that I’m still going nowhere in my life.”
