Chapter 46

So what should he do then...?
Go there of course, albeit reluctantly so
"What's that supposed to mean...?" Jack tried to protest once again, but found himself alone in the kitchen, while Samantha was already on her way to the front door. Even as he tried to catch up with her he was much too sluggish, and all he could do was to wave her off as she left the house.
"You'll see when you get there!" She turned and smiled at him one last time, before she closed the door behind her, and left him to ponder what she'd been saying. There was no clues whatsoever on the small piece of paper, as he'd never heard of this company's name before, although a later, quick search on the internet revealed they were into the marketing business, which made Jack even more confused as to why he would go there looking for work.
He still had the whole day to think about it though, as tomorrow would be Friday, and the company was apparently not open over the weekend. He couldn't ask his daughters for their opinions either, as he still hadn't actually told them that he'd practically been fired from his last one, and he wasn't so sure they'd understand his situation, or even his merits for a job like this.
On the other hand, Sam had said that he should go there for other reasons than just the interview, but then again he wasn't quite so sure that he'd even want to know what she had in mind for him either. Especially not as she wouldn't tell him about it outright, as it made him feel like he was walking into a trap, or possibly becoming the victim of some sick sort of prank.
In the end he was certainly getting curious though, and with all other things going wrong in his life at this time he guessed that it couldn't really make things any worse than they already were. And that's the reason to why he got up early the next morning, but didn't care that much about dressing up to his best, and left the house in his car just an hour after his kids had went to their job or classes respectively.
And that's where he was right now, almost two weeks after his wife had left him, on his way up to the seventh floor of a building he didn't feel comfortable or at home in at all, in search for a job he'd never asked for on his own...
Wait awaits him then...?

One man's world has been turned upside down, but he may find hope in the most unexpected places.
A story which I hope to work on when I have the time for it. For now it's closed for others, but I'll gladly accept ideas and suggestions for how to improve or continue the story! I've now started adding conditions, which is how I planned it from the start. So far it's recommended to read without activating the play function, but please try it out if you want, and let me know if you find something odd about the scoring.
