Go inside the dungeon

Quickly slipping inside to avoid detection, Alex gets his first look at the interior of the dungeon. He doesn’t know whether to be turned on, sickened, or horrified. The room contains multiple stations with strange contraptions. Some things he recognizes right away, such as the cage that can be raised up with a chain and pulley, or the stockades that hold a prisoner in a bent-over position, locking the person’s hands and head between two wooden beams. Other things he can guess as to their use, such as several tables with leather straps on each corner, and a large cross with straps on the crossbar and bottom. He sees other things, the uses for which are a mystery to him.

Throughout the room are a number of smaller utensils, such as whips, cat-of-nine-tails, candles, clamps, and masks. Alex has seen enough bdsm porn to know what these are used for, but admittedly, they don’t do anything for him. He sees a bunch of other things that he can’t recognize or fathom how they could be used to satisfy anyone’s sexual appetite.

The room is devoid of anyone else but him. Quickly looking around, he spots the Iron Maiden and goes to it to inspect it. It is about 6 feet tall and is large enough to hold a grown man. It does, indeed, have razor-sharp spikes inside it, but these appear to be retractable, so a person could be enclosed within and then subjected to the excruciating experience of the spikes being slowly extended into his body — either all, simulataneously, or one at a time, depending on the preference of the operator.

Alex opens it to inspect the device, noting with a shudder the red, crusty covering of the spike at crotch level.

As he feels his way around the dark interior with his hand, Alex notices something that feels out of place. A small object — perhaps 3 inches in length — is attached to the interior with duct tape.

Alex is about to retrieve the object, when he hears voices outside in the hallway.
