Go find my friends

I walked to my usual spot to pass the time, a tree behind the gymnasium. My friends and I had been hanging out there since our freshman year. There were lots of dumb and funny memories under that tree.

It would be a great place to bring a girl after class, if any of us had one. One can dream.

Sitting on the shadow of the tree were three of my best friends. We had become friends on our first semester and stuck together.

The first one was Jacob Smith. He was tall and thin, with brown hair and a Latino complexion. He was really smart, getting the best grades from all of us.

The second was Ben Lee. A short black kid with his black hair in braids. Ben was cool, always having a joke to tell.

The last was my best friend, Ryan Wayne. Average looking in almost every way, black hair, brown eyes, normal body. He was very friendly and a gamer to heart.

He was heavily concentrated on his phone, probably playing a new game.

Ben elbowed him and pointed towards me. Rain paused his game and looked up at me.

“Hey, Rich. You’re actually on time” Ben said with a smile.

I shook hands with all of them and sat on the shadow of the tree. I chuckled “Couldn’t be late on the first day, could I?”

“So we don’t count the three last years?” Ben asked with a smirk.

We started chatting about what we did during summer. Just like that the gang was back together, almost like we never left.

The bell rang after some time and I groaned. We got up and left for our classrooms. I said my goodbyes and went to my first class.
