Of course you can take care of yourself, and it's just a matter of time until the masses realize they made a big mistake and beg you to return to your rightful place in the throne. You just have to stay alive until then.

There are two ways out of the castle beyond the main entrance: a small gate that leads into a wealthy part of the city, or a secret passage that leads to the forest outside the walls.

What will you do? The city could be very dangerous for you right now, as the people are out of control, but you may find supporters to help you and retake control of the kingdom. On the other hand, going to the forest presents no immediate danger, but how long can you survive out there, where bandits roam and food is hard to get, when you lived your entire life in luxury and surrounded by servants?
