Go Northward.

Just because it seems like there is nothing there, doesn't mean that it is the wrong way to go. In fact, after what you have seen, nothing sounds like the way to go. So you head in a Northern direction, without much of a plan other than walking forward. The jungle is rough terrain; it seems it grows just to keep people out. Sprawling roots, low-hanging vines, and thick growth barely sum up your problems. You're also more than a little terrified that, in the jungle, could be some creature you thought myth, watching you at this very moment. You shiver and shake that idea away; just staying in one place will get you nowhere.

You walk for what must be hours, the sun sinking ever so slowly toward the trees as night grows closer. You are about to be stuck in a jungle, shelter-and-supply-less. But as these bleak thoughts encompass your brain, you enter a clearing to find a giant stone pyramid resting in the center. Your jaw drops. It's as huge as any tower, made of some gray stone, with vines growing up it. The best part is the lit torches surrounding it. Clearly someone lives here, or something, and you need a place to stay. However, who knows what calls this place home. Even if it is humans, it doesn't mean that they're not a cannibal tribe who will kill you on sight. Then again, night is growing closer and there are definitely things in the jungle that will eat you. You shiver as you think over your choices.
