As if controlled by a **** other than your own, you make your way to your car and drive away from the hospital. You're lost in thought as you make your way to your mother's house, where your sister was living while attending her first semester of college.

By the time you make it out of the fog in your head you realize you're sitting, parked, in the driveway of your childhood home. Your sister would be inside. You had no idea on how to tell her the news. How could you tell her that you had to break the promise you made her to walk her down the isle at her wedding she fantasized about so many times?

You step out of the car, debating whether or not to tell your sister at all.

Laughter can be heard from inside the house once you reached the front door. You can make out the voice of your sister, and then your mother's.

A grim smile crosses your face. Of course she had to pick today to come back.

Your hand rested on the doorknob.
