"Hey, that's a nice offer Janet, but I think it's a little too couple-ish considering our boss-employee relationship, especially after I just asked you for casual sex." You make the statement into a joke, and she laughs.
"Ha. Yeah, I guess so. That's cool. Wouldn't be the first bottle of red I've consumed on my ownsome." She seems a little dejected, that moment of confidence gone almost completely, so you try to boost her back up.
"Maybe some other time? I mean, if you take me up on this, and you're as good at sex as you are at your job, who knows?"
She blinks in mock surprise. "No pressure, huh? Ok, fine. I'll get back to you before the end of the week, one way or another." A smile. Phew, she didn't take that overt hint badly.
"Great. I'll be hearing from you then."
She shows you to the door and you exchange goodbyes. You give her a peck on the cheek and head off to your car. You jump in the driver's seat and take a moment to reflect on what just happened. Did you just pass up the chance to get laid tonight? Is she going to say yes, eventually? What should you do in the meantime? Wait for her to call, or try finding someone else – maybe your sister, or a hooker, like you thought about earlier?
