Chapter 15 by Suvinceus Suvinceus

What to do?

Give him the magnifying glass

Remembering the item from before, Hannah took out the magnifying glass and handed it over to Tormentor. He raised an eyebrow at first, but a smile appeared on his face.

Getting up and doing away with the cigarette, he headed towards the coffee table nearby and pulled up the sheet covering the cage-like object. It was an anthill within a glass box, to Hannah's surprise.

Placing the magnifying glass over the ants, he silently watched as they moved around, blissfully unaware of his presence. Soon, the glass peered right into the ants, and a fire of sorts formed.

The newly created fire eventually burned one ant, and when it was finally dead, he put the glass down. Tormentor sighed as a lone tear fell off his face and said, "This reminded me of the day I shot my wife. If only I'd divorce her instead of putting her down."

He looked over at Hannah, who said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Whitefield."

"Thanks," he replied, before he saw the bag in her hands. He then asked, "Would you like to discuss some important things with me? And yes, we can talk over some burgers."

She briefly pondered over this before replying, "Um, sure."

After the two ate the bacon cheeseburgers (and to his delight, there was more mayo to them as he wanted), Hannah asked, "Are you sure you can lose the calories by working out?"

"None of us souls get any fatter around here, young lady," Tormentor replied. "But I will say this: it might be possible if you worked for me and helped me win the tournament," he added.

"But before that," he said, before cupping Hannah's chin in one of his large hands. "You must take the pact to begin."

Hannah's teeth chattered; she didn't know what to do.

What should she do?
