Give Mona and Fairouzeh some space (A new girl appears)

You sit in front relaxing while Mona and Fairouzeh sit in back, whispering to each other. It's a beautiful night, warm, but with a cool breeze from the ocean.

A car door opens and a girl runs out, giggling, steps over the roadside barricade and squats down, holding on from the back side.

Looking in the rear-view mirror, you see Mona and Fairouzeh with their arms around each other's shoulders, their heads tilted back.

"Shall I take a walk and give you some room?" you ask.

Mona meets your eyes in the mirror. "YES," she says.

You wave your phone. "Beep me when you want me," you say.

"Bye!" Mona says with a wave. Fairouzeh snuggles closer.

You reach over and snap the lock on the passenger side, step out, lock the driver's side and close the door. Rolling your shoulders, you feel your chest twinge again. The back of your head is still a little tender. Karen could have killed you. But man, it was worth it. And Tara and Jennifer. Epic. You figure on taking a nice little walk and then dropping your friend and her new interest off wherever they want before you hit the sack. You've had more of a day than you have in most months.

The girl making the emergency pit stop finishes up, tugs her clothes back together and walks back toward the car. As she reaches out for the door handle, there's a mocking laugh from inside. The tires spin, kicking up gravel, and the car accelerates out of the turnout.

"You BASTARD, STOP!" she yells, chasing the car down the road until it's clear it's not going to stop. "AIEEEE!" she screams after it.
