Gina tries to reason with Mr. Cohen.

Mr. Cohen took a step through the doorframe and stood there looking directly at Gina. He reached up to take the foul smelling cigar from his mouth and dropped it on the floor, stomping it out with his foot. "Gina," he said slowly, drawing the word out in order to instill a heightened sense of fear into the girl. "It seems that another month is up and I dearly hope you have some money for me."
"Mr. Cohen," Gina managed to croak in strained raspy voice. "I'm so, so sorry. I can't make my rent again. Please don't kick me out onto the street. I'll let you have your way with me in exchange for what I owe you," she begged of the man.
A sly grin broke onto his face as he considered her offer. "Gina, Gina, Gina. While I find the offer tempting, sex with you would just cover the first weeks rent you owe me and if I'm not mistaken, you owe me three months."

Gina's blood turned to ice in her vein at Mr. Cohen's refusal to take her up on her offer. Her mind was bombarded with the realization that she would have to live on the streets. She did nothing to cover the fear that was clearly evident on her face. Mr. Cohen however had no intention of making her live on the streets. "I'm a business man with debts of my own to pay Gina. Besides I wouldn't want an attractive girl like you to be homeless, who knows what fate might befall you if you became homeless. I wouldn't want that on my conscience, now would I?" he asked her.

Gina began to hope that perhaps Mr. Cohen would give her another month to find her feet and thus save her from having to sell her body.
"So let me tell you what I have done. I've sold on your debt to some people in exchange for what you owe me. They are going to give you a place to live and the opportunity to make some money to pay off what you've cost them. I believe you would call them... pimps."

With that Mr. Cohen turned and walked from the apartment. As he stepped across the threshold he called out, "she's all yours now boys."
Gina screamed in terror as two mean looking men, carrying cruel looking saps, entered the flat in the absence of Mr. Cohen. As they stalked towards her, Gina tried to make a break for it around the table and out the door. The quicker of the two made a lunge for her and caught her in a forceful bear hug around her chest, pinning both her arms to her sides. She tried to kick free from the man as she yelled for help but her whole world sunk into darkness as she was clubbed from behind by the second of the two men.

Time passed and slowly Gina became to return to consciousness.
