Chapter 4

What kind of fight was that?
Getting chewed out
"Irresponsible." Mrs Z (pronounced zed) scolds you. You were sat in her office by yourself, Charlie having already been talked to. Mrs Z is the head of the whole school, her decisions are usually final on any matter she interjects in. Unfortunately this has given her quite the 'stick up her ass' which has become a well known problem among the students. She keeps everything neat and tidy along with the school; dark-greying brown hair tied tightly in a bobble, piercing brown eyes behind a tiny pair of half-rimmed glasses, and a stick-thin figure hidden under a crisp all grey skirt and blazer. "Second day back and you just can't help yourself can you Michael. No wonder Rick sent you to us."
"What?" You gasp in shock. "You know my stepdad?"
"Unfortunately... One of the board of directors needed a favour and mentioned a certain child would be placed under my personal supervision. That child being-" Mrs Z was cut off when the chief of security burst through the door.
Gerald Webb is another massive man who helps maintain this place, although not as big as Mr Tank he still has bigger biceps than your head. He does however know how to maintain hair on his head as loose strands of light-brown hair dangle from under the hat of his security uniform. A beige shirt and slate black trousers with the added bonus of a fancy badge attached to his belt, showcasing his importance.
"Mrs Z, I apologise for interrupting you. We have..." Gerald stops when his pale blue eyes flash over you for the briefest moment.
"My time is precious Gerald. What is it?" She asked impatiently.
"You'll probably want to hear this in private Ma'am." He shifts his eyes over you again.
"Very well." Mrs Z clicks her tongue with a frustrated sigh. "Get out Michael. We will finish this talk later." She follows you out with a stern scowl before Gerald slams the door behind you. You're left in the long narrow corridor with unanswered questions. Two potted trees guard the door in the corners of the corridor, the corridor which leads to a plus-shaped intersection of more narrow corridors.
*
Later that day you were walking leisurely down one of the halls, heading to the recreational area, it's a massive room full of couches, TV's, game console's, pool and football tables. With what consists for 'lessons' finished, you had the rest of the day off leaving you with one place to go. The surest way to find your closest friend.
During your steady laid-back pace five of the school's guards run passed you, beating you into the rec-room. They, like Gerald, all wear similar uniforms just without the fancy badge. You get to the door-less doorway when a chorus of complaints flare up from them suddenly turning all of the TV's off.
"Hey, what you playing at here? We're watching that." Jake's voice is heard complaining over the rest. He's been your closest friend for as long as you can remember, the two of you having met all the way back almost ten years ago. You can see his firey red hair from across the room with ease, something that you try not to tease him about, even though he keeps short. With nothing to hide his squared face, his freckles are quite obviously scattered lightly around his lower face and mainly focused on the his bridge of his pale nose. His ice blue eyes catch yours as he nods his head at you as if to say, "get over here."
"No, you were watching." The first guard scoffs in your friends face.
"Everyone head back to your rooms and don't come out until you are instructed to do so by Mr Tank or Mr Webb!" The second guard shouts, silencing the room's complaints into quieter mumbles and groans of discontent, but everyone started to quickly file out off the room and started splitting up down the halls.
You meet with Jake as he heads towards the doorway you're still stood by. You grab his arm and pull him into a firm half hug. "It's good to see you again Jake, any idea what's going on?" You ask with a half smile on your face. The two of you walk out off earshot from the other students and staff.
"I'm not to sure." He begins. "There was something weird happening in Ashfield right now. The news seems all jumbled, like they don't or can't get their facts straight. Overall they did keep mentioning something about a virus or disease of some sort."
"A virus? Why keep it all hushed? That makes no sense." You muse aloud.
"Getting your conspiracy brain all tingly am I?" Jake pushes you gently. "Maybe it's the apocalypse you keep going on about?"
"Very funny, just because I want the apocalypse to happen does not mean that I get overly eager and excited whenever I hear even the smallest rumour of a-" You can't contain the shit-eating grin from your face. "Fine, fine. Lets go find out if I'm right yeah?"
Jake chuckles. "Lead the way, O' master of the doomsday."
You quickly sneak through the corridors, all the while avoiding anybody else, with Sam following behind. Surprisingly you manage to make it all the way back to Mrs Z's office without being spotted, most of the guards seem to be preoccupied elsewhere which certainly made it easier. You and Jake creep up to her door and listen in for any sounds.
Which you absolutely hear...

Undead Souls
End of the world
In the near future of an alternate reality, a zombie virus has started to spread and begins a worldwide rampage. So it's time to grab your loved ones and survive in these soon to be hell infested lands or rise above and save the world. At the age of 21 do you have what it takes to live in this new world. The zombie apocalypse is almost upon you, do what you must to survive. (Based upon my love for zombies, HOTD, and interactive zombie games that I've played. Just a quick warning this story takes time to get to any juicy bits as I want to focus on the plot rather than any 'plot' if you catch my drift. Any-who, hope you enjoy!)
