Get right to the point

Doe walks up to you and looks you right in the eyes and says

“I want you to meet him, John, I love you and he’ll just have to accept that.’ You reply

“Ok if that’s what you want, I can’t wait to meet him then.” Your statement reassures Doe and puts a smile on her face.

“He’ll be coming for dinner, I was hoping you’d make your world famous Orange Chocolate Cake but with a bit of Guinness”

If there was any one thing Doe ever said about her dad, It was his love for cake and Guinness.

“Sure, anything to get on your fathers good side” you reply and you both have a cheeky laugh about it.

After waiting nervously the whole day, the time finally came for you to meet the man that raised your lover. It’s 5:38 and you start pacing back and forth in the living room.

Doe comes up behind and grabs you by the hand and says

“John look at me,” she exclaims while staring directly into your eyes ”Everything will be Ok, I’m here just in case anything goes wrong” she reassures you and gives you a loving kiss and then the doorbell rings.
