Get out of there!

It had been easy enough for Appa and the others to follow the trail of destruction through Omashu, and they had arrived to the ruined building by the time Aang fled out of it. He managed to land into Appa's saddle mid-air, quickly taking off from the city before that crazy Fire Nation Princess and her friends would change their minds. A lot had happened, but it was clear that they had more to worry about than the banished Prince from then on...

As far as they knew, there was one more possibility left. The great capital of the Earth Kingdom - Ba Sing Se - was still out of the hands of the Fire Nation, or at least Aang hoped it was. It might be their last chance to find an earthbender that could teach him, and so they set course to the last remaining stronghold. The war was really coming to an end with the Fire Nation being in control of most of the world already. Luckily for them, Ba Sing Se wasn't anything like the rest of the world. It was a great place, and the King of the entire Earth Kingdom lived there too... However, it would be a long journey for the four of them, and it would be a dangerous one as well with those crazy Fire Nation chicks following them.

Appa ended up flying above a massive swamp. While Katara and Momo were cuddled up, taking a nap, Sokka noticed that the sky bison was slowly getting lower to the ground. He glanced over at Aang, noticing how the bald man looked odd. Like he was in a trance, so Sokka reached over to shake his shoulder and get his attention immediately. "Everything okay?" He asked, worried about his friend. Losing Omashu and Bumi had been quite hard on him...

"Yeah... This might sound weird, but I feel like the swamp is calling out to me." The Avatar tried to explain, suggesting that they should land to take a look. Of course, Sokka wasn't a big fan of that so the guys discussed the pros and cons. The only pro being Aang's curiosity as the earth was calling out to him, and he was taking it as a sign. Maybe he would find his earthbender teacher down in the swamp...

The choice wasn't theirs, in the end. A large tornado appeared out of nowhere, starting to pull them down. Luckily, Aang's reaction was quick, and just like during the storm 100 years back, he created a large air bubble around Appa to keep himself and his friends safe. Towards the end, the force of nature was too strong and Aang's bubble broke. The three of them were launched into the water, fortunately landing in a deep end together. However, Appa and Momo were nowhere to be seen, which was worrying.

Staying closely together, they started making their way through the dense forest. There were so many thick trees around, a lot of roots not even being underground and vines falling down from the treetops. It was so dark and wet as well, and Aang, Katara and Sokka ended up wandering around for the rest of the day until they decided to get some sleep. They cuddled up closely together since it was so cold, and one by one they managed to doze off into a light sleep...
