Gently Place a Hand on Her Shoulder.

You walk over to her and gently place a hand on her shoulder. She gives a start, then slowly relaxes. She turns around to look at you. Her face is... lovely. Beautiful. A goddess. An enraged goddess. Uh oh.

"You!? YOU!? YOU'RE the blackmailer!?"

Oh. Yeah. You kind of forgot about that. "The way you were acting-"

She shivers and backs into the corner. "Why did you- you could have just... just... I don't know- found another way. Oh my God, you saw everything, didn't you?"

"Take it easy. Everything's going to be o-" you say approaching her.

An animal is never more dangerous than when she is hurt and cornered. She grabs the plaque off the wall and hits you across the face with it.

Oww! Luckily you weren't hit with any of the corners. She keeps hitting you until you're finally able to grab it away from her. She bolts out of the room and a minute later you stumble out, holding the plaque. You find one of the phones and call for a cab to take you to see a doctor. You don't know how badly hurt you are, but there's blood on the plaque you're holding.

The skin on your scalp was torn slightly and your face was pretty bruised. The plaque was obviously the weapon used and the police insisted on dusting it for prints. You didn't press charges against Miss Stoller for assaut and battery, but she took advantage of the scandal to resign from the school. You're (discretely) considered a hero by your fellow students and even some of the staff, faculty and prefects for your involvement in her resignation. Her replacement is a lot less neurotic and the lives of hundreds of people are improved by your actions. Miss Stoller moves on to make porn movies, of all things, and seems happier also.

Still, you keep wondering if you could have done better.
