Geist

There were quite a few Grimm in the Emerald Forest, no matter how many times students from Beacon cleared them. It made the area a perfect spot for training and now, Grimm Taming. Though, the swarms of Beowolves were getting tiring. A week of heavy training with your team let you strike down a Beowolf in single combat now, so that was something. You were still hopeless against 2 or more.

Weiss on the other hand, just wiped out groups using those glyphs of hers to boost her speed and Dust attacks.

“You’re amazing.” You panted slightly.

“Of course.” Weiss flipped her hair back. “This is but a trifling matter to me.” She eyed you. “Jaune… are you having trouble with these Grimm?”

“Err… no!” You lied. “I’m fine. Just a little tired today from a late night.”

“Okay?” Weiss looked at you closely. “You should take better care of yourself. Where would we be if something happened to you?”

Probably living your own life?

“I will, this was sort of a spur of a moment thing.” You said instead. Telling her you snuck your way into Beacon still scared you. Weiss would probably make you do even more Spartan training than your team was.

After a couple more Grimm, the two of you reached the edge of a clearing and Weiss held out a hand.

“Shhhh.” She hushed, crouching down. “Look.”

You peaked through the trees and saw what looked like a semitransparent ghost with a Grimm mask floating around some rocks.

“What’s that?” You asked and she glared at you.

“Where you not paying attention in class?” Weiss hissed.

“No, I was distracted by Yang and others.” You replied, remembering all the fun you had in Peter Port’s class with those rules. Yang bent over the desk was still a very pleasant memory.

“Ugh… it’s a Geist.” Weiss explained. “Alone it’s not very strong, but it possesses things and uses that to attack. You have to destroy the mask, the only solid part of it, to defeat it. When it possesses something, the mask is still visible.”

“Can it possess anything?” You asked, eyes wide.

“Nonliving things,” Weiss amended. “It can’t possess people and animals, but dead trees, rocks, armor, that kind of stuff. They are pretty dangerous, but if we catch it, we’re bound to win.”

Her eyes sparkled dangerously.

“Maybe something a little easier?” You suggested.

“Don’t you want to win?” Weiss growled. “I’m not going to let my owner throw a match away.”

“Well… I was just thinking I never tamed a Geist before, so not sure how well it’s going to work.” You made up on the spot, rubbing the back of your head. “It’s a little tough to tame Grimm.”

Though, you were tempted. A Grimm under your control that could possess things? There were all sorts of fun you could have. Possess girls’ clothes, toys, and other stuff? It was only limited by your imagination. Combined with your ownership power, there was a lot of fun to be had.

“How do you tame Grimm anyways?” Weiss asked. “You never explained it before and I should know what I need to do.”

“It’s going to sound silly, but the first couple steps are going to be… you will find them stupid.”

You were trying to figure out how to explain it to her without saying magical ownership.

“Tell me.”

It looked like you didn’t have a choice.

“We have to fight it so I can get close and then I’ll write my name on its face as a show of dominance,” You made up with a combination of truth and lies. “That’s the hardest part. After that it’s just the finishing touches. Though, it has to see my name on its face. That’s why I brought the mirror.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me…” Weiss groaned. “You can’t just own something by putting your name on it.”

If only she knew the truth.

“It’s not all, just the first steps I’ll need help with.” You lied. “Please, Weiss. Trust me.” You leaned forward and kissed her soft smooth lips. There was a few seconds where she returned the gesture, leaning into you before breaking apart. A little drool was glistening on those perfect lips.

“Okay. I’ll always believe you.” Weiss told you. “Where you go, I’ll go.”

“Let’s do this then.”
