Stiletto received a message through her optic implant: The Hunt had just gone live.

The counter started: She had 60 minutes left.

All around the park people were stopping what they were doing to check their cell phones. There was, of course, an app to tell everyone when a hunt had gone live in their area. Some people had the app just so they could watch; some so they could join in. And plenty claimed to be in the second category while secretly hoping to be in the first.

They weren't Stiletto's immediate concern, however. She had after all just been taunting a guy who would now be doing everything in his power to violate her. She silently cursed the timing; she normally never would have let an amateur creep like that get this close to her while the Hunt was live.

She turned back and, sure enough, the amateur Hunter's lasso was flying straight towards her.
