Around the time she comes home, he left the front door wide open then soaked one of his shirts in the red liquid and placed it right in the middle of the garage driveway. Now he just hides outside the yard and wait patiently.

He nearly fell asleep waiting, the moment he hears a car on the road nearing their house, he already knew it was her. And like he expected, she stops the moment she notices the red piece of clothing. After inspecting the shirt she starts running into the house as he comes out of his hiding place, but right after he starts moving she comes back to grab her bag in the car.
