Friday, The end-of semester party

Tonight was going to be amazing he thought to himself. The final big party of the year before everyone went away for the Winter break.

Mark spent most of the day just chilling in his dorm room, with no exams planned for the day.

During the day, when Mark was out for lunch, he bumped into Cassidy. The brunette beauty was coming back from her final exam, in probably the best mood she had been in for weeks.

Her face sort of dropped as soon as he saw Mark there. “Ohh Mark, how have you been?” she asked.

He replied, hoping to get out of this conversation as quickly as possible. “I’m good I guess, excited for the party.”

She smiled, glad to hear that he was doing well and that he was just as excited for the party tonight.

“It’s going to be great, you’re going to love the end of semester seshes we have here,” she explained.

They started to talk casually for a bit, almost forgetting about everything that had happened between them and Matt. It was nice, there were different sides to Cassidy, he may have hated her bitchy attitude at times but she was also very sweet when she wanted to.

“Well maybe I’ll bump into you later tonight then,” she said, wrapping up the conversation.

“Uhh yeah, that would be nice,” Mark responded.

They stood for an extra few awkward seconds, debating whether either of them actually hug each other or anything. In the end, they just said their goodbyes and moved on.

Maybe it wouldn’t be the worse thing to run into Cassidy at the party. Matt on the other hand... yikes.

For the rest of the afternoon, Mark prepared, hoping for one final big night for the year.
