Follow the Queen

Rennin followed the Queen to see her living quarters as she quietly entered it as the room looked to be a sewing room..

Glass laid on a table along with wooden boards as Rennin walked further in as she saw a bunch of almost human looking dolls held up by ropes on a rack..

The Queen was in the middle of the room as she held up a cute princess doll as she finished sewing it..

“Ahhh… this is some of my finest work yet, I do hope to use it soon!” Said The Queen as Rennin watches all this..

The Queen sighed as she looked around the room..

“Is someone in here…. No…. I’m starting to feel paranoid again aren’t I!”

Silence filled the room as Rennin tired to remain quiet as The Queen opened the door and sighed..

“It’s fine everything’s fine, as long as our camouflage remains so shall we!!” She said as she walked out as Rennin surveyed the many dolls in the room..

“What is all this for, is she…. Making her own people?!” Thought Rennin as she left the room too.

She ran downstairs as she bumped into Anya.

“Hey there you are…. I was just looking for you!!”

“Ahhh… Ohh hey!”

“You okay you look like you had a nightmare or something!”

“I’m fine….. I just need to process something!” Said Rennin as she left the castle..

She walked out to the Candy store to see Maddie sweeping the floor.

“Ahhh The human returns, may I help you?”

“Have you seen Lisa?!”

“Ohh She went back to the Ellie farm to get some ginger wheat…. Why?”

“I….. need to ask her something?”

“Ok…. Well you do you I suppose!”

Rennin ran out the store and left to Ellie’s farm as she saw Ellie talking with Lisa..

“So…. Can I see the human again?”

“I can’t get to her…. She’s the step daughter of the Queen and… I always feel like so undeserving to be in her presence!!”

“Whys that?”

“Because…. I’m just a simple candy maker, it’s not like I do anything as important as she does!!”

Rennin walked up to the two of them as Ellie spotted her..

“Human!!!”

“What, she’s here?!” Said Lisa as she looked behind as she blushed deeply.

“Hey Ellie, Lisa I—“

“Come here you!!” She said hugging her as Rennin wanted so desperately to talk with them..

The hugging stopped as Rennin looked at Lisa and Ellie..

“Listen Lisa I… need to talk to you about something!”

“What’s that?”

“I…. Can we talk in your barn?” Rennin asked Ellie

“Sure…. But I wanna hear your troubles too!!”

“Ohhh fine!”

The three of them walked into the barn as they all sat on some ginger wheat bales..

“So…. What’s troubling you human?”

“Actually you two can call me Rennin!”

“Ohhh that’s a cute name!”

“Ohh well….. anyways….. Lisa you said magic exists here?”

“Yeah..?”

“Well you might think I’m a little crazy for saying!”

“Pfttt Please Nancy’s always told me the craziest stories, I’m sure yours won’t be that crazy!”

“Okay but-“

“Human…… Rennin….. you seem very scared about something, I don’t care if you think I’ll find it crazy…. I’ll listen to you!”

“…….. I…… saw dolls in the queens room!”

“So…. That’s where most of them live!!”

“No…. I mean lifeless shells of them…. They didn’t move or anything almost like they had no soul!”

“…… Rennin….. I’m sure the Queen has the best intentions for them, is that what frightens you?”

“…… Lisa, Ellie…. What happened to most of the humans who’ve came here?” Asked Rennin

“Ohhh well most of them either exited the kingdom or….. simply…. Just left without any warning!” Said Ellie

Rennin was a bit scared at what Ellie said could mean for her as Lisa pulled out some chocolate..

“Rennin, I made these for you!” She said holding a box as Rennin looked at it..

“How’s this going to—“

“Rennin…. The Queen has always had her peoples best interests at heart… and I have mine for you… eat some chocolate and calm down before you do something you’ll regret!”

Rennin sighed as she bit through some of the hard stiff chocolate as she felt some nice peanut butter filling enter her mouth as she chew on it…

It tasted rather delicious to Rennin as she smiled..

Ellie had some too as Rennin looked back at Lisa..

“This tastes…. Amazing!”

“Yeah it’s like two flavors are colliding in my mouth at the same time!!” Said Ellie happily chew on it..

“Thanks…. I call them Nut Crackers!!”

“Ohh that’s nice!”

“I’m glad you enjoyed them you two…. Rennin you should go back to the Queen!”

“Why?!”

“Because…. She cares about you like everything else in her kingdom…. Even though you’re not a doll…. She clearly loves you deeply!” Said Lisa

“But what about?”

“You can always ask her…. I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about!”
