At least the room was cozy enough...for an interrogation room. Shed always thought they stuck you in a metal box with the heat on. The small wooden room was a bit cramped, but at least it wasn't a torture chamber. It didn't keep her from fidgeting, though. Eventually, a police woman with long brown hair came in.
"Miss Stewart, I'm officer Parkins and I'll be conducting your interview today.", she said as she say down with a small tale recorder. She clicked it on. "Oh. We call her Aurora...and about 5 days."
"And why did you not call anyone when you discovered her presence?"
"He...convinced me not to. He was sure something had happened to her before he found her."
"Found her?"
Sally nodded. "In his back yard, yeah. He made a good argument...and she kind of confirmed it."

When I talked about getting her back to the home she'd been assigned to she got angry...and when the idea of being there came up she looked...like a victim. You gotta just...just let me talk here, okay? Yesterday she finally knew enough English to tell me..."
Officer Parkins reclined in her seat, angling the microphone closer to Sally. "Okay. Go ahead."
Sally took a deep breath. "She said she'd loved the idea of seeing what the world looked like outside. She'd gotten assigned to a married couple that said they were volunteering for the program instead of adopting a kid...and they were nice for a good while. Long enough for her to trust them. Then the wife pinned her to the bed and ripped up her suit..."
