Fleeing Micanopy

As the police engage the creatures Jasmine ran back to the desk the other officers were arming themselves with shotguns and putting on body armor, a few got their radios out and tried once more to contact the surrounding towns for help but to no avail, she needed to do something walking to the front desk she tapped the female officer on the shoulder she turned and looked at Jasmine.

"Listen when you sent those officers to my house I know you guys told me to stay put but I followed them back to my home, behind the house the creatures were building this strange tower maybe that the reason?" Jasmine said the Officer considers what she said.

"If that's the case then either we destroy it which unfortunately for us we don't have the manpower or weapons to do that look at them there have to be hundreds of them out there, the boys in front are barely holding them off as is..." She said Jasmine had an idea if she got into her car she could drive to the other towns and call for help!

"Wait I go it if we can't destroy it what if I take my car and drive to the neighboring towns there has to be a limit to the range of that tower! That means I can call for help!" She said the officer had a look of worry on her face.

"That's too dangerous we can't take that risk what if you get captured too? Then no one else would know what's happening here they might not even believe you!" She said she does have a point that's why she needs to be armed.

"They might not believe me but they'll believe you bring someone with me that is high in rank the more time we waste here more people are going to be invalid by those things! Please, Officer, we have to!" She considered it but finally, she relented.

"Fine follow me to the back I'll give you a gun and a radio then you are going to need to get Officer Tom he is the highest ranking officer here at the moment, once you get him to leave as fast as possible we'll try to cover you the best we can until we can evacuate as many civvies as we can..." She said Jasmine thanked her and the duo went to the back of the Station where she was given a shotgun with ammo, some body armor, and a radio she thanked the Officer and went back to the front fo the Station exiting it the streets were in chaos of the 10 officers that left only 2 remain thankfully Lieutenant Tom Bruggen was ok!

"Damn what are these things made of! Our guns are doing jack shit to them! Jeff gotta aim for the head!" Screamed Lieutenant Tom Bruggen he fired a few rounds and the reloaded one of the creatures landed on the police cruiser it hissed at them and before it could attack its head exploded, the duo looked and saw Jasmine she fired a few more rounds at the creatures.

"Ok Tom we I need you to come with me and help warn the other towns please we need to get to my car..." She said it's not like he had any choice in the matter he and Jeff followed her to her car unfortunate one of the converted humans managed to stun Jeff as both Jasmine and tom got into her car, starting it up she revered her car and began to drive out of town as she drove her car was pelted by strange green energy beams making her car glow a sickly green but she ignored it and pressed on above them the alien ship hovers the town.

For an hour they drove until finally, they were able to get a signal out Lieutenant Tom Bruggen began to broadcast an emergency message to the towns police stations around the area to prepare for the worst, looking up at the sky Lieutenant Tom Bruggen watched as the alien ship began to disperse hundreds of pods into the Micanopy, but as soon as he was able to send the message the radio was soon cut out he looked at her fear on his face.

She looked at the steering wheel not knowing what to do next but she couldn't stay they needed to escape they needed to warn the rest of the state hell the rest of the country, she looked back at and tried to give him a reassuring smile before restarting the engine and driving off once more.
