Flee the observation room

The closed door is the way out. The observation room was designed so that it opened onto a different corridor from the science lab you had just broken out of. The goal was simple; it let people enter the science lab to observe the room behind the glass without making a noise in the corridor outside. The design was never intended to help you flee from danger but today it would do exactly that.

Without looking behind you and risking a delay or seeing something you wish you had not, you leap off the gurney and throw yourself at the closed door. Thankfully it's unlocked and you're able to yank it open and rush out of the room.

The corridor is dark, all expect the emergency lights have failed and those dark blue globes are flickering dangerously. Some of the space station's central heating system has been damaged and boiling hot steam pours into the far end of the corridor. You can't go that way. The vapours from the leak are already beginning to curl around your shoes.

You could go back into the observation room if you wanted, back to investigate whatever it was that was moaning and back to untold danger. There are three other options; the elevator at the safe end of the corridor, a door into another observation room even if that means walking towards the leaking steam or around the corner at the elevator and through the fire doors that closed when the electricty began to fail.

A scream echoes out from somewhere in the space station. It didn't sound human. It sounded more like a hunting bird, some avian battle cry.
