Chapter 55 by hematoma hematoma

Submit to Christine? Jason? Finish the tour? Or...?

Finish with a stop in the "safe room"

You take a pass on becoming a **** to one of your former teachers and nudge Sara with your elbow.

"What's left?" You ask.

"Only one stop," Sara replies. "It should be a short one. It's the 'safe' room."

You leave the slaves and masters to their dungeon and exit into the open area of the basement. Sara leads you towards a poorly-lit corner.

"This is the place where some people go when they have nowhere else to go," she stops you outisde a cheap plywood door. "Most people consider it the 'loser room'. Ugly guys with hot spouses and no interest in finding someone to have fun with come here. People with anxiety problems who don't mix well come here."

You can hear talking and laughing inside.

"This is the most terrifying room of all," she says, reaching for the doorknob, "this is where..."

She turns the knob.

"...the nerds hide."

She swings open the door to reveal the only unfinished room in the whole of the Goodlove estate. It's scarcely more than a water heater and supply closet. A long folding card table has been set up on the bare concreate floor. A hodgepodge of chairs and an old decrepit couch provide seating for a half dozen, well, nerds.

There is a skinny Indian-looking guy of about your age sitting next to a very very skinny and tall man who looks older than you, but his glasses are so huge and thick it's hard to notice much else about him. At the head of the card table, peeking over a stack of books, is a very fat man with a graying beard.

There is a girl with a big nose and a bad complexion, a chubby unshaven guy in a ragged tshirt, and a freckled girl who looks about 12, but the rules of the party guarantee she is over 18.

"More players!" The guy with the glasses announces.

"We're playing Dungeons and Dragons," the freckled girl explains and sounds a bit irritated. "We're in the middle of an adventure though."

The huge bearded guy, apparently the dungeonmaster, holds up a fat hand stained orange at the fingers by some snack food.

"We can always add more players," he gestures to a pair of open chairs. "Would you fine young ladies care to join us?"

Sara laughs at the question, one of her feet already outside the door.

"You can join them, but I'm a little busy," Sara explains.

Play some D&D? Conclude your tour? Or...?
