"Anyway, now that Geezer and his two nuts have moved on, we should too." I thought about the map Stephanie showed us earlier and tried to remember a good route to the car. It wouldn't do us any good ultimately since Neil knows where we all live, Eddie's plate number and lots of other things I was kicking myself for showing and telling him, but at least we wouldn't be in his territory anymore. A good start to an inevitably bad conclusion. "I think we should take the scenic route to the getaway car. Neil won't suspect it, being such a bad idea and all."

Jolene frowned as though disappointed in me. "What about your non-traitor friends?"

She was right. If Neil was a bad guy, they needed to know. Besides, no matter how much I disliked Weasel, it wouldn't feel right to ditch him. I took out my cell phone and dialed Eddie, but I only got a busy signal. Shit. Next I tried Weasel, which to my relief/disgust, was picked up. He didn't answer with words, which meant he was inside a locker room at the moment.

"Weasel?"

He blew very softly into the phone to confirm he was listening.

"It's all gone to hell. We need to extract right now!"

"why," he whispered.

"Neil is the headmaster of this school." Silence. "So, if you see him, ditch him. He's a bad guy."

"ok. meet where?"

"The car, of course."

"no. he'll be there."

True. "That fountain between buildings, then...?" Jolene was shaking her head and writing on something. She held it up and it read: No landmarks!!! 2nd floor, this building, room 214. "....no, make that dorm 214. Are you close to that?"

"very."

"Is it secure?"

"......(very faint sound of movement) it is now."

"Good. We'll be there soon." Weasel said 'we?', but I was hanging up when he did. Jolene was a bit red in the face.

"What's wrong?"

"...you trusted me."

"Shouldn't I have?"

"It isn't that. It's just....thanks."

I give her a smile and open the door.
