With Lisa's looks especially, they didn't have any trouble attracting guys. Almost before Chris has finished looking around to try to make sense of the strange new sights, Lisa had found a group of guys that met her approval, and they had set up court at a big table in the back. Before long, a cocktail waitress had come by, and one of the guys had hooked them up with a round of drinks. Lisa ordered a Cosmopolitan for herself and one for Chris.
With the loud house music, Chris couldn't hear anyone talking except the people sitting right next to him. He was sitting at the very inside of the rounded booth, with Lisa on his left and a guy named Steve on his right.
He couldn't hear the names of any of the other guys when they introduced themselves, but he could hear well enough to talk with Steve. Steve seemed nice enough; He was 24, a couple of years out of college, and working in banking. Chris and Steve got to talking, and Steve seemed entranced. Before Chris had realized it, he had gone through two Cosmopolitans. He couldn't really taste the ****, but with his small size and lack of experience with drinking, he was definitely feeling the effects.
