Fake a false sighting

"Well, I did see a halfling fitting that description earlier today," Janno said, trying to think fast.

The guards leaned forward slightly, intrigued by his words.

"But it was near a tavern on the other side of town," Janno continued, trying to think up something. "I believe it was the Wild, uh...." He couldn't think up the name he wanted.

"The Wild Stallion?" one of the guards guessed.

"That's the one," Janno said with a nod.

"Quickly, men, to the Wild Stallion tavern," the lead guard said. As the other two turned to go, he quickly added, "Thanks for the lead, good sir. I bade you good day for I have a thief to catch."

With that, he quickly followed his comrades down the hall and towards the stairs. "Good luck," Janno called after him.

He closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm not sure if setting down a false sighting was the way to go," Dalia said. "They could come back to ask for more information."

Janno grumbled and pondered what to do.

"Uh, guys, we may have a problem," Kassi said. She was looking under the bed. "He's gone."

Just then, they realized that the window was slightly ajar. Glennon had escaped on his own terms.

Janno sighed. "Maybe it's just as well. We don't want to start our new band as a bunch of fugitives."

However, they were still only three and Janno would have preferred a fewer more members to the aspiring party before they set out for an adventure.
