Failed Experiment

As Jodie slept Nathan slowly walked over to her bedside and gently patted her shoulder. "Jodie?" When Jodie's eyes opened they iimmediately filled with tears, as she sprang upright hugging Nathan. "Nathan. I'm sorry..so sorry." Nathan was angry, but not at Jodie, never will he be angry at Jodie. "Jodie, the dep-.. I need your help. get dressed, I'll explain everything. Jodie looked at the clock, it was 6 a.m.

The DPA had many buildings attached by security checkpoints separated by five mile long roads. the first two days after moving in, Jodie was treated to a tour through each building, it took the entire day.

"What's going on?" Asks Jodie, finally breaking the silence. "Scientists have discovered a direct link to the other side, calling it the infraworld. the world of the dead." Exclaims Nathan. "Why, why do you need me?" Jodie was extremely confused, but she somehow knew the answer to her question. "Go ahead." came a passing voice outside of the car, signaling that they have passed a checkpoint.

Parking the car, Nathan turns to Jodie. "The reason you're helping is that you can see them, just like Aiden." "Nathan."Jodie grabs Nathan's arm before he steps out of the car. He looks at her. "I'm scared." She says. Nathan smiles, but that doesn't mask the fear in his eyes.
