“I will catch you later, Ms. Gladstone.”

I wave goodbye and head to my car. I look at my app. I’ve managed to copy the transmission of her implant with her artificial. More than likely it will show me nothing, but something about Ms. Gladstone bothers me. I need to get to a techerie to read the data.

I punch the destination into my car and consider what the motive might have been. Twenty minutes and I still can’t fathom why he might have been killed.

My car parks itself into the techerie lot. I stroll in and find a terminal.

A soothing male computer voice queries me. “What can I do for you?”

“Analysis of data stream. Which of the twenty one artificials does this transmission go to?”

“Transmission does not go to any of the Artificials who make up the pact.”

“How is that possible?”

“Unknown. It could be a new Artificial is rising as Enigma did after War disappeared.”

This is puzzling. It appears Ms. Gladstone might not be an Angel. I ponder my next move. I could simply meet Ms. Gladstone and try to get an alibi from her. On the other hand an unknown Artificial may be involved. This bears more scrutiny.
