Examine the options

Taking a step back, Derek contemplates his power. This was... wow. The potential sends his heart racing. "I... I need to find out more." "What did you say Master?" "Nothing Mom, just um... finish up there and maybe you could start cleaning your own bathroom." Jess's shoulders sag slightly but she responds without hesitation, "As you wish, Master." He feels his phone buzz as his EXP goes up and his INF over his mother increases, the feeling bringing an unwanted smile to his face before he can suppress it. This was addictive, he'd have to be careful... Agh, if only he hadn't chosen his mother! Of course... then he'd probably controlling Bella and feeling less guilty about taking someones free will away. Feeling conflicted Derek steps out of his room, sneaking a peek at his mothers curves before he can stop himself, and pulls up the options menu in the app.

There were the usual notifications, vibrate, and gps options, but there were also many others that caught Dereks attention. Discrete Commands: subject isn't aware of your control over them, they will behave as normally except for your commands... Hm, that could be interesting. Below that option is a slider and a question asking what ratio of INF to S-points the user wants. It's currently set to 100% INF and 0% points. Curious, Derek explores the feature a bit to figure out what these "S-points" were. It looks like these S-points were a subtler way of influencing people. INF determined how much direct control someone has over an individual but S-points could be used to directly alter that person. Bringing up his mothers stats he noted that S-points could be applied to change any of her base stats, though without any points to test it he still wasn't quite sure what they did. There was also a section labelled "relationships" that showed a list of the people she knew and a brief phrase summarizing her relationship with them. Derek felt a warm swell when his relationship read: "Loved like a son". Tapping on it brought up more details, statistics like "Love" and "Dependence" and "Fear". He felt a little deflated when he looked over her "Respect" and "Trust" scores, making a mental note to get a job before reminding himself of the power he held in his hand. Each of the stats looked like S-points could be applied to them, influencing Dereks relationship with his mother.

Derek wasn't quite sure how he felt about that. At least with INF they just have to do what I tell them, this actually changes who they are. Moving back to the options menu, he fingered the INF/S-points slider, unsure what to do. As soon as he touched it a message flashed across the screen, Warning: applying S-points to a person won't necessarily make them obey you, INF will. Altering a persons stats may reduce the INF required for certain commands but it will also greatly reduce the EXP you get from successfully completing a command. Sometimes it's best to prioritize influence before adjusting other people. It's true, this sounded a lot more complicated than INF and not necessarily better...
