Everyone was staring at her

All eyes were on the gorgeous upside-down redhead. Mackenzie normally took a bit of pleasure in turning heads, but she was also normally clothed, and this difference took away the pleasure in all the attention the naked beauty was receiving. Red faced with humiliation, Mackenzie could do little more than keep her hands clamped over her ample chest and wish she could turn invisible.

"I've heard of making an entrance, but I think this is a little much, Mackenzie." Rachel said, breaking the silence and eliciting a few chuckles.

"Uh, Mackenzie, what were you doing in our tree house? And a bit more importantly, why are you naked?" Mrs. Henderson asked, fixing Mackenzie with a bewildered stare.

Mackenzie wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear, just drop off the earth and never see any of these people again. Unfortunately for her there was no way to do this, and instead she had to face cruel reality. Gulping down her fear, Mackenzie did her best to keep her voice calm and even, and came close to a convincing performance.

"It's... it's a long story." Mackenzie began. "I'd rather not get into it. If someone could just help me down, give me something to wear, I'd be really grateful. And I'd be even more grateful if everyone would stop staring at me!" she finished, her calm facade breaking down at the end as the mounting embarrassment became too much.

"Not so fast, Mackenzie." Diane said, inserting herself into the conversation. "Now don't take this the wrong way, Max, Janet, but this party was getting a little dull." The Hendersons nodded in hesitant agreement. "I think Mackenzie's surprise entrance has injected a little life into this party, though. And I have to say, she makes for a unique centerpiece..."

Mackenzie heard murmurs of agreement ripple through the crowd. They couldn't... they couldn't be agreeing with Diane on this! She was a member of their community, they were supposed to stick up for her and help her out in a pinch! Not agree to take pleasure in her humiliation! And yet that seemed to be the general consensus. Perhaps Mackenzie had less friends in this neighborhood than she thought.

"It's settled, then!" Diane stated. "So, what should we do with our new party fixture?"
