The Cockshoots Ball

In September, aristocrats arrive on the Friday and stay until the Monday morning. The Ball is held on Saturday and the shoot on Sunday for those in a fit condition to participate. On Sunday there is a grand meal and entertainment in the Great Hall.

The High Wycombe Ball

A one day event usually held in November with local bigwigs invited. A meal is followed by dancing. It is less formal than The Cockshoots Ball and has been known to get out of hand with many needing temporary accommodation.

The Garden Party

This is specifically for the estate tenants, including children, the staff and their guests. It takes place in July and agency staff are brought into serve. A ball and meal for the servants in the evening, but the family normally join in and serve the food. Not too many sleep alone that night.
