Eve sure is

Eve is frozen in place, staring at the pregnancy test in her hands. It couldn't be! The risk was so low...

And still, here it is, blue and positive. It is the third test she did this morning, with the same result.

She shakes her head. It can't be... She isn't ready to be a mom. She doesn't even know who the father is and there is a high chance that she will never know. Could she still graduate while pregnant? Is she able to stay student body president? Will it ruin her life?

She can't think straight all by herself. She needs to talk.

She goes out of the bathroom and walks right to her bed, in which Ayita is still sleeping. Since the end of the campaign and all the mandatory sex, she has way more time to have fun without it being political. She has slept with several guys and girls since then, mostly black guys, but the half Cherokee girl is her most regular lover. She is suspecting more and more that they are actually soulmates. Sex with her is quite intense, and she is always nice, funny and cute. She usually likes to look at her, quietly asleep. But right now, she has something else on her mind.

She climbs on the bed and shakes her shoulder.

"Hmm... What is it?" The brunette first smiles softly, waking up to the sight of the woman she loves, but then she realizes Eve is about to burst into tears. She instantly gets up. "What happened? Sweetie, are you hurt? Is it someone in your family? Your friends?"

She looks so worried, the blond girl feels a bit comforted by her unconditional affection.

"Ayita... I... I think I'm pregnant."

Her friend -her girlfriend?- looks at her silently, then embraces her and starts caressing her back to calm her.

"Do you... Will you keep it?"

"I don't know!" Eve shakes her head. "I have my studies, I have responsabilities... And I'm so young! And... I can't raise a baby all by myself, I'm not strong enough! I..."

"Eve" Ayita takes her blond head in her hands and forcsd her to look her in the eyes. "You're strong." she asserts without the slightest hint of doubt in her voice. "You've spent the whole year fighting white supremacists, you're the strongest woman I know. And... You're not alone. I'm here."

Tears flowing from her widened eyes, the student body president looks at the younger girl facing her with confidence and determination. Ayita takes her hands and goes on.

"If you want to be a mother... And if you're ok with it... I'd like to help you raise this child. I want to stand by your side as you face the adversity, now and forever. I want to share the joy and the pain. Because I love you, and I want to be part of your life."
