Escape into the cornfields

Not daring to take that chance that they should know each other, you quickly turn and dash into the cornfields. The cornstalks, surrounding, breeze by as you speed through, plunging into the darkness and deeper into god knows where.

You know the men are giving chase. You take quick looks behind, and though you cannot see them, you just know that inches beyond that darkness they are there chasing like dogs.
