Escape!

Cami still didn’t trust Adina. She didn’t trust her sudden change of heart at all. In a match like this, it became clear that Adina would switch sides whenever it suited her.

“Just your shorts to go, Janina,” Adina declared arrogantly. “Are you going to make it hard?”

“Why are you doing this to me?” asked Janina as she still covered her bra. “You could have stripped Cami instead.”

“That wouldn’t be fair.” Adina put her hands on her hips. “We already took off her hoodie and you took off her pants. She’s wearing the same as you.”

Nye chimed in from the sofa, as her confidence returned. “Janina only has her shorts. That’s one. Cami has her shorts and her top. That’s two. Adina, you have your pants and your shirt, that’s two. But you might be wearing something underneath your leggings.”

Adina turned to Nye. “I am not. Unlike you, I don’t wear a million layers of clothes.”

“How do we know?”

“I’m wearing three things, okay? I’m wearing two shirts and my pants. Nothing else!”

Cami raised her eyebrows. “That’s still the most of any of us.”

“Yeah, and you haven’t been stripped at all,” Janina pointed out.

Adina’s expression dropped away. She realised the mess she’d gotten herself into. Nye had a wide grin on her face and Cami and Janina were now staring at her.

The alliances had shifted indeed.

Adina didn’t wait for them to corner her and she fled, jumping over Janina before she could get to her feet.

She didn’t know where to go. There was nowhere to go. She jumped between Ellie and Nye on the sofa and stepped up the back of it onto the higher roof. They often went there to watch the sunset. It wasn’t dangerous but Adina knew if she could hide her two friends may end up fighting again.

Ellie and Nye scattered as Cami and Janina came barrelling after Adina to hunt her down.
