Epilogue
James and Aurora sat happily in their living room. A little girl, Andromeda, now age 5, sat with her uncle Nebula. She had Novaxan teeth, but lacked any ability to retract them, had blue skin, no scales, pink hair, and two big green human-like eyes, with three pupils inside in a triangle. She had a small button nose that almost blended into her face, and wore a hydration suit underneath a green shirt and blue skirt. Her markings that shine with emotion were placed like freckles across her body.
Currently, she had Nebula engrossed in her plans for a new toy. She wasn't satisfied with the toy pony that could walk, and the two of them sketched blueprints for improvements to make it run and gallop. A song played from the other room, and Nebula stood.
"I'll be back in a bit, okay? I just need to take a call from uncle Archie.", he said on his way to his room.
"Aww...he's so boring.", she whined.
James chuckled and grabbed her, pulling her into a pocket on the couch between himself and Aurora. "C'mon Andy, he's why you and mommy are allowed to stay here. Maybe he'll bring your cousin over soon."
"He should!", Aurora said smiling. "It's been years since we've seen them. I bet Axel is a lot taller now."
James nodded. "Yeah...yeah he probably is."
Sally had chosen to argue her case and move with Archie into the underwater city, under the condition that she remain in civilian areas. They were an odd match, but she had learned to appreciate him. Aurora rubbed her swelling belly, gold crawling across her form. "Well...at least you'll have a little brother to play with soon."
Andromeda gave her mother's belly a hug, sharing in the golden waves Aurora shimmered with. "I love him already."
