Entire building

Anne walked out of the lab into the corridor. At first she passed the R&D department and as she said "Hi" to the other scientists she coughed an invisible cloud of nanites that infected most of the room.

"Looking good, Anne," said one of the other interns as she breathed in a mouth full of nano-virus.

As Anne made her way through the building several of those she coughed on began feeling feverish. Several chalked it up to bad lunch from the cafeteria, but several felt they sick enough to leave early.

By the time she reached Dr. Hutchinson's office the entire building was infected. Either from her or those who had passed on the infection. A few people with arthritis noticed that their joints were much more flexible. Judith from accounting would find out after work that her cancer had disappeared completely during her visit to the doctors.

Dr. Hutchinson was a rather imposing figure in the office. At 40 years old she was already the most respected and feared individual in the office if not her field of expertise. She had long blonde hair that she kept in a tight bun and her face was always taken over by the large black rim glasses she wore. Maybe if she learned to let loose she could pass as attractive.

"What is it, Anne?" Dr Hutchinson asked.

"Dr. Cranston has a progress report on the nanites," Anne said spreading the nanovirus by coughing.

"You better check that cough out," Dr. Hutchinson said looking up from her computer, "My word, Anne. You look like you've had quite the make over."

"Thank you," Anne said, "It's thanks to Dr. Cranston actually. The nanites were able to repair damage tissue and make clothes."

Dr. Hutchinson had a dawning realization, "Don't tell me he injected you with nanobots."

"Yes," Anne said dully, "Is that a problem?"

But Dr. Hutchinson was already storming off towards the R&D laboratory.
