Enter Viridian City

Finally Connor reached Viridian City. It wasn't as big as most cities in fact calling it a city was probably a bit of a stretch, but it was much larger than what Connor was used to in Pallet Town. It even has it's very own Pokémon Gym but its apparently been closed a long time, most likely home to many bug types by now.

The first thing on Connor's mind was getting some Pokéballs and expanding his team. So it was straight to the local Pokémart for him and Snappy. The two walked right in, residual fluids from the Rattata still dripping off of Snappy. Something which was of no surprise to the employees and customers there. That sort of sight was a regular occurrence in Pokémarts. Actually, it was a regular occurrence pretty much anywhere outside the starter towns.

"Hey! What can I do for you on this fine day?" The Pokémart Employee asks as Connor and his Squirtle approach the counter.

"I'm looking for some Pokéballs to expand my team."

"I was afraid of that. The thing is. We're fresh out and the new shipment is running late. So, you looking to become a Pokémon Trainer?"

"Yeah! I'm gonna be the greatest in Kanto! Just made it here from Pallet Town."

"Pallet Town! That little place seems to be kicking off now-a-days. Say, you wouldn't happen to know Prof. Oak then?"

"Oak, of course I do. He is the one who gave me this little guy to start my journey." He gives Snappy a little pat on the head. "Why do you ask?"

"His order just came in a few minutes ago. Could I get you to take it to him?"

"Well, I wasn't planning on heading back, at least not for a while but...since the shipment is running late and it's for the Professor I'll make an exception."

"Thanks, say hi to the Professor for me! Hopefully we'll have some Pokéballs by the time you get back!"

With that Connor turned around headed back the way he'd just came with a parcel in tow.
