Enhancement + Summoning
Jack pondered silently for a few moments while the others who had been startled by his apptitude whispered none to covertly behind him. On one hand summoning sounded incredibly interesting to him, conjuring up images of massive horned beasts and seductively sexy purple women with tails. On the other, the term 'Magical Blacksmith' sounded incredibly useful for making a place for himself as well as a great use for his new more powerful body. In the end he decided and replied simply, "I will choose Enhancement as my main school, and Summoning as my secondary."
Overseer Ariadne gave him an appraising look, and he could swear he saw her icy irises glowing while his head began to itch. Suddenly as the feeling had come it was gone, and she gave him a warm smile. "An excellent choice, those two schools complement each other very well. The resource cost is the highest with these two schools but the profit margin and level of skill are also high, very prudent of you," the woman approved, placing a delicate hand atop one of his larger ones. "Now, things will be slightly confusing for a while and you won't have anything on you I assume so I will send a small gift to help get you started. After you have chosen a Clan you will find it waiting in your room. Please follow the other students out to the main courtyard where the clans await Jack."
With a flourish of her hand, the Overseer returned his liscense and gestured to a doorway to the right of the teacher's table. Jack bowed greatfully, and replied, "Thank you very much Overseer!" He had to actively ignore the mutterings of the people around him as he left through the indicated exit, and through a long, dark hallway. Upon exiting Jack almost tripped over a gnome man who had stopped to appreciate the exquisite view of the crystal fountain Jack had seen from outside the town. It was larger than life and the many floating fountains and pools revolving around its central basin and orb of pure water made it the most definitely magical thing he had seen so far in this world. The gnome grinned back at jack apologetically and ran off without a word.
Hundreds of people were already gathered on the surrounding grass, basking on benches, or grazing in gardens. Most of the newer looking students were engaged in conversation with one or more older ones, whom jack assumed were recruiters for clans. Six booths were set up at equal distances around the fountain and each was draped in cloths of respective colors of each clan:
Empress Clan - Scarlet Red with Black trim
Strength Clan - Steely Grey with Red trim
Justice Clan - Gold with Silver trim
Lovers Clan - Cherry Blossom Pink with Purple trim
Heirophant Clan - Snow White with Gold trim
Fool Clan - Void Black with White trim
Each booth was manned by members of their indicated clan, and they were all surrounded with an almost equal ammount of students. The only exception being the Fool Clan booth, which held only a few peoples intrest and in general did not look as opulent as the surrounding booths. Jack had only been pondering over which booth to approach first for a few seconds when a familiar green blur rushed past, grabbing his arm and yanking him along in the process. "Come on slowpoke! My clan is over here~," Kara just grinned back at him unabashedly, and dragged him straight over to the Fool Clan booth with surprising strength. Jack had to admit that he didn't altogether hate getting pulled along by a cute orcish girl and just went along with it.
When they arrived at the booth there were only two people behind the counter, and they were rather pointedly ignoring everyone around them and making out with a passion usually reserved for more intimate settings. One was a tall, slightly skinny half-elf boy with tousled golden blonde hair and near-perfect porceline skin. The other was a mocha-skinned human woman dressed in very sheer, loose-fitting fabrics, with jet black hair tied in two long braids down her back. Jack and Kara awkwardly stood in front of the booth for about a minute, watching the furious tongue-swapping match until Kara yelled at the pair, "Oi! Tarquin! Elena! Get back to work or just get it on already!" Jack had to repress a laugh when the two jumped and turned to glare at the orc girl.
Tarquin, the half-elf, blinked in surprise at seeing jack and grinned sheepishly. "Ah sorry, nobody ever really comes to this booth so we didn't notice you two~ I'm Tarquin and this exquisite beauty is Elena, a pleasure to make your aquaintance..." Tarquin trailed off, pulling Elena tightly against him. "Jack Valent. I'm a new student. Kara **** me to come over here," Jack grinned in response, poking the orc in the forehead. Kara just stuck out her tongue, and folded her arms triumphantly. "Well any friend of Kara's is a friend of ours," Elena chimed, smiling beauteously in their direction, "Here in the Fool clan friendship is really all we have to offer anyway. No grand plans or schemes like those others, just good old fashioned fun..." At the word 'fun' she grabbed Tarquins crotch, and bit his lip playfully.
Kara rolled her eyes, and turned to Jack as the other two fell back into their passionate embrace. "Welp, so much for any help from those two jerks. We only have about ten members, and our dorm isn't as big as the others but its really homey, and every day is fun. Whadda ya say pal? Care to join us?"
