Encounter with a "special" fan

As Beth strolled through the convention, she knew most guys (and a few girls as well) were checking her out. Some people probably recognized her costume; others just saw a hot older lady. Finally, when she spotted a young man glancing through some Ebony Thunder back issues, she decided to step up.

Around 25, and just over six feet tall, with shoulder-length black hair (except for a couple of small braids hanging on the left side) and stubble, a scar like Anakin Skywalker's decorated his face. Dressed like a futuristic bounty hunter, he seemed to be the only guy not looking at Beth, so naturally, he got her attention. Strolling up to him, she asked him, "So who are you supposed to be, sugar?"

The dark-haired man glanced up at the black lady in front of him. "Name's Stephen."

"I meant who are you dressed as, honey?" The cougar ran a hand over the dark gray "laser-scarred" plating covering Stephen's chest.

"Nobody, really. I just decided to go for a Boba Fett/Dog the Bounty Hunter/Predator blend." Stephen glanced down at the fancy wristbands he sported. "Designing the blaster gauntlets here was the real tricky part." After a few seconds, it finally came to him. "Hey, you're Beth Smith, right?"

"That's right. You know your artists."

"Yeah, I was kind of a fan when I was a kid. That was before I came out, though."

The last sentence hit Beth's libido like a tranquilizer dart. "You're gay?"

"Yeah, since I was 19 years old. What's wrong with that?"

"Nothin', really. So, you're saying that you've never gotten intimate with a woman?"

"Just once. My best friend, Jessie, and me decided to sleep together as a two-fold thing: to de-virginize each other, and to see if I was really ... that way. But I am." Glancing up temporarily, Stephen raised a hand to somebody far away.

"Maybe you're not, honey. Maybe you're a pendulum, if you catch my drift." Before Beth could say anything else, a tall girl with dark brown hair, dressed in a black tanktop and patterned bell bottoms strolled up to Stephen, giving him a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, Steve, how's it goin'?"

"Just great, Jessie. I'm sure you recognize this lady, right?"

Glancing over Beth's costume, Jessie guessed the identity correctly.
