Chapter 11

What shall they talk about?
Emotions run high
Cathy looked around the room at the girls she had known for scarcely a day, but with whom she had already been more intimate than anyone else she'd ever known. Anita, whose expression was thoughtful, her lips slightly pursed as if working out a problem in her head. Allison, who looked more angry than anything else, though not at anyone in particular - perhaps at herself. Suki, trembling and obviously scared to ****, still muttering under her breath in Japanese. Sam, who still seemed to be enjoying the whole thing, and Eric, who seemed to be rolling her eyes at the whole ordeal. Jo was unreadable behind her glasses, but sitting with her knees hugged up close to her chest as if protecting herself from the rest of the room. Cathy wondered how she appeared to the rest of the room.
"Is someone going to say something?" Sam asked. "Because we do have class in about an hour."
"I don't see how you can say that any of us have class anymore," Allison grumbled.
"Oh fuck, will you people lighten up?" Sam said, throwing her arms into the air. "What's the big deal, anyway? We got drunk, we did a little healthy experimenting, we woke up in a slightly embarassing situation. To look around this room, you'd think we'd all accidentally shot our mothers."
"Oh, what will my mother think of me?" Suki wailed, covering her eyes with both hands.
"Want my advice?" Eric asked. "Don't tell her about it."
Someone chuckled slightly. Everyone in the room turned to Anita, who looked back at everyone with a smirk on her face. "You know, it's funny," she said. "I had actually planned on trying another girl at some point while I was up here at college. Had a few ribald fantasies about it. But I never thought I'd score with six women on my first night, that's for damn sure."
"So, you enjoyed it?" Sam asked with a grin.
"I'm not saying I did, and I'm not saying I didn't."
"I just want to make one thing clear," Allison said. "This doesn't leave this goddamn house, all right? No one's going out and bragging about this, or I'll kick her arse so hard she'll taste my shoe leather for a week."
"Touchy," said Sam. "Most people would be in a better mood after having six orgasms the night before."
"Shut up, bitch!"
"Shut up yourself, you dyke slut."
Allison threw down her coffee and advanced on Sam. Three things happened all at once - Eric jumped up to stand by her sister, Suki wailed and hid her face in her hands, and Jo leaped in front of Allison.
"Sit down, Allison," she demanded.
"Get out of my way."
"You'll have to go through me," Jo said.
"And me," Eric added.
Allison sneered at Jo. "Don't think that just because you're blind, I won't take you out."
Jo struck out at Allison with surprising accuracy, pushing her back into her chair. Allison was too surprised to strike back, and a moment later she lost her chance as Anita and Cathy rushed in. As Anita held Jo back, Cathy went to the floor to keep Allison from jumping up and finishing what she'd started.
The brief altercation had knocked Jo's glasses askew, and she showed everyone in the room that even blind eyes can show rage with perfect clarity. "Don't you ever assume that I'm handicapped," she hissed.
What now?
