Chapter 62

Arcade game cabinets, skill book or two, nothing, or (gasp!) was a silent alarm set off?
Emotions, books, and a rather unexpected guest
To no surprise, it was rather dark inside the old arcade, but what was surprising was how clean the place was. Blair was hoping to find something useful, but it wasn't like she had high hopes for it either. Had the place been really cleaned out before they closed up shop? Her eyes looked around, realizing she had never been in the backroom before, the first thing to catch her attention was an interesting set of steps leading upstairs to who knows what. She shook her head and thought, 'I should finish looking around here first. Any good gamer knows that inspecting an area fully is the wisest course before proceeding. I wouldn't want to miss anything after all.' When she looked back towards the main room after her eyes had finally adjusted to the poorly lit area, she noticed a small pile of old game manuals, magazines, and floor plans scattered all around the center of the main room. It hurt Blair to no end, seeing this once thriving area, full of little ones and adults alike, arcade game noises, laughter, joy, acceptance, and prizes. It was simply empty, forgotten and abandoned. A few tears welled up in Blair's eyes as she tried not to get too emotional, but in many ways it had been her real home. Not were her family lived, but where she felt cared for, accepted and loved. She couldn't help, but drop to her knees within the circle of game manuals, magazines, and floor plans as she sniffed several times, several more tears of pain, loss, and remorse for what had transpired, not only for this place, but her friends were let out. Gamer's Mind kept the brunt of it from making her a sobbing mess, but it felt good to finally let it out.
A few soft foot steps were heard coming from behind her, a light from a flashlight illuminated the area around her when an old, but familiar voice began to speak. "I don't know why you are here, but you shouldn't be in here. This place isn't open to the public anymore." She turned slightly, seeing an old gentleman standing there with a flashlight in his right hand, wearing a white buttoned up t-shirt, brown slacks, and brown shoes. She couldn't see his face due to the flashlight, but she knew who it was. While squinting because of the light shining in her eyes, she accidentally used Observe on him.
Observe:
Title: Tender Guardian, Guild: Guardians of the Flame, Class: Conjurer, Name: Yoshito Daisuke, lvl: 45, Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 175, Age: 2,235, Dick size: 8 inches, Body type: Fit/Toned. Race: Kitsune, Relationship: 55
Mood: Tired, Worried, and Hungry, Current thoughts: I could have sworn I locked that door..
There was no way she could forget someone as important to her as Mr. Daisuke. He was the owner of this place, a very friendly and helpful man. He was always very kind to her. He gave her advice and even allowed her to play some of the games for free. Her eyes slightly widened when she read that he wasn't human, but a Kitsune and just how old he was. Hmm, his body type wasn't matching what she saw. Not that it really matter to her. He was still the same man she knew from before, right? He was the real father figure in her life. The one man she cared for more than any other in her life. He was like family. He tilted his head and asked. "It couldn't be, Blair, Blair Mitchell? What on earth are you doing here?" She nodded slightly and said. "Yes, um, I'm sorry Mr. Daisuke, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to go." She wiped away the tears from her eyes before looking around and said. "I, I know I look different, but it is still me. I am surprised you are here. It looked like this place had been abandoned." Yoshito chuckled softly while nodding slightly and said. "Well, it looks like far more has changed for you than just your appearance. Please, come upstairs when you are done here. We obviously have much to discuss." He turned around carefully and walked to the open door, closing it before heading upstairs.
Blair was surprised by these turn of events, but it would seem that Yoshito was still as accommodating as she remembered. She started to get up, but when her right hand touched one of the floor plans, she received a notification.
Arcade Blue Prints: When learned will unlock the following within Create illusion barrier.
- New monster type in tier 1 selection, sprite
- New environment type, abandoned city
Accept or Decline?
She stopped in her tracks as she read it. She couldn't help, but laugh while thinking, 'Talking about sprites and abandoned cities within an old arcade? That's funny. Nice gaming reference though.' She mentally hit, 'Accept' before looking at the other books on the floor, but after trying to touch each one, only one more reacted to her. This notification was a bit more surprising.
GamePro Magazine: When learned will grant the following skill.
Pro skillz lvl 1 - Self
Cost: 25 Mp
Increases the effectiveness of your next ability or spell used within 10 seconds by 50% but increases its cost by 25%.
Special note: This cannot affect abilities or spells with a cooldown of 24 hours or longer.
Accept or Decline?
She shook her head with a smile while mentally hitting, 'Accept' before thinking, 'Wow, this takes me back.' The name of that magazine reminded her of the skill points she had yet to spend. She opened up her character sheet and looked over her stats. She began to think about her fight with Zane, contemplating about where to spend her 10 skill points.

Int: 33 + (0) Wis: 43 + (0)

After over a minute of thinking, she couldn't help, but feel that her low Intellect had been a major factor in her fight against Zane. She had to look at the evidence. If she hadn't oom'd during their fight. Well, things might have turned out differently. With this in mind, she spent all of her new skill points in Intellect, increasing it to 43. Once she locked it in, she felt her mind expand and certain things became clearer to her. She was going to need to be a bad girl indeed. She had many things to learn, break, and play with to get the answers and strength she needed to destroy Zane, but she didn't want to kill him, no. That would be too nice. She began to walk towards the stairs while her mind pondered what lies ahead. What does Yoshito want to discuss? Will he help her if he is able to or not? Or worse, will he try to stop her?

Descent into the Abyss
Man or woman?
I am basing the world off of "The Gamer" by Sangyoung Seong. I wanted to shake it up and add more flexibility.
