Chapter 3

Where to go?....
East
A ****... the idea appeals to Korack. Of course, the sense of his travel is getting himself his own slaves as he goes. Still, it would be good to acquire a **** now. Not only it could be an extra pair of hands helping in his travel, but it could also be a good way to... entertain himself during the travel.
So, Korack goes in direction to the market, which was pretty much what Korack had expected from a place where there would be a **** auction: dirty, packed, seeming to be the type of place where one would find all the more illegal things. Of course, this was probably how most markets were in a place like that, considering the amount of people in there, and most of which seemed people who are only after some everyday thing, instead of anything shady. Although some of them looked like they were definitely up to something...
Finding the place was not hard. All Korack had to do was ask a few people, and soon he found himself on what seemed to be the central area of the market, where a series of podiums had been prepared over a stage. A number of people are in there, and they vary from sketchy looking individuals to one or two guys who look like they can only be from some royal family of a nearby city. Soon, a fat pig was on the center, announcing that soon the auction would start, and he brought forth the first row of slaves being auction. Each one of the slaves was wearing nothing more than a loincloth, shackles with chains and metal collars, allowing anyone to see in full what they would be purchasing.
The pig stopped by each ****, and gave a briefing of them and of their special qualities, and how useful they could be to those who bought them, as well as occasionally talking about any drawbacks they might have, like being insolent or weak for certain types of labor. Most slaves were hard workers and war prisoners. All of them seemed quite interesting. However, there were three of them who caught Korack's attention the most:
The first was a bull. A HUGE bull. He should easily be nine feet tall, and he was muscular and covered in scars. The fur of his body was of a pure white, whiter than snow, and his eyes were like rubies, stoically looking at the crowd. The bull was introduce as the last survivor from the raid of a great settlement, and as having killed several enemy soldiers before having been finally subdued. He was describe as incredibly strong, with a near endless stamina, and with a skill in both armed and unarmed combat that would put most seasoned soldiers to shame. However, he was also advertised as being extremely prideful, and who would not obey any master, unless this was someone whom he respected.
Next was a bird-man with orange and red feathers. His beak was closed with a metal ring, and his wings were tied with chains, to keep him from flying away. He looked at the people with attention and intelligence on his yellow eyes, as if was the one trying to decide which one would be his', and not the other way around. This was advised as a great flyer, but his true asset was his wide array of knowledge, as he showed to be skilled in alchemy and medical treatment, as well as in knowing much about herbs and minerals. However, his drawback was that he was delirious, as he insisted to have come from a place rich in technology, and claimed to be able to fabricate it if given the chance.
Finally, the last one was a lizard. The lizard kept his head down, and he didn't looked at anyone, and he nearly seemed like he wished to be anywhere but there. Certainly seemed the one who was the most unhappy with his situation. He was thin, nearly looking malnourished, and he had scars on his back and shoulders, looking like he had been savagely whipped. This one was advertised as a former prisoner of Thundera, having been caught stealing and them made into a ****, having been given away to another kingdom after he was deemed "too useless" by his previous masters in Thundera. He was advised as an excellent scout and survivor, being able to navigate through any place and to know how to survive in nearly all areas, and he was a skilled hunter as well, making use of traps and of poisoned darts to bring down his prey. His only drawback was that he was physically weak, and not fit for heavy labor, which was what led his previous masters to deem him as useless.
Those three were the ones who more called Korack's attention, and he still paid attention to them as the auction went on.
Which one Korack buys?
