Drive By

As Cutter sand Barbara ordered drinks, they heard the sound of a muscle car engine roaring down the road. Neither thought anything of it until just after they shot back their drinks. They heard screams before the first gunshot sounded. Both of them quickly took cover, and watched as the rest of the pub was inundated by bullets.

"Stay here and call for backup. I'm going after them." Cutter ordered her partner.

Barbara nodded, but knew this was a perfect opportunity to reveal herself (literally and figuratively). After she called for backup, she heard her partner speed away in their car. She quickly ducked into the women's restroom and removed her clothes again, stashing them behind the toilet before running off in pursuit.

The sound of the engine was unmistakable as she ran down the vehicle. However, she realized she didn't know the extent of her powers. She knew she could run fast, but could she stop the car with her strength? If they shot at her, would she be ok? Not wanting to learn those lessons the hard way, she decided to keep pursuing the vehicle until it reached its destination. It only took a few minutes, but the driver thought it lost the pursuing patrol car, so they drove straight to their hideout. Barbara stopped outside, and realized that if she charged in there, they could see her face. And if she said something to them, they would know her voice.

That's when an idea came. She remembered how her body had vibrated earlier, and how that distorted how she looked. She tried to do the same this time, but only doing it with her face. The effect seemed to work, as she stood in front of a window, looking at her reflection. Next, she tried to modulate her voice by focusing on her vocal chords, and vibrating then a certain way to distort her own voice.

The effect was amazing, and she went on in, thinking about how she will be a big hero.
