Chapter 21
by
The Archmaester
Where do you land?
Dragonstone
After a month on the high seas, my great Armada made landfall at Dragonstone, an island just to the north of Kings' Landing and the former seat of House Targaryen. It was currently occupied by Stannis Baratheon, who was still licking his wounds after his epic defeat at the Battle of Blackwater Bay. My dragons burned his already broken fleet and the Unsullied fought up the stairs leading up to the castle.
Dragonstone was a valyrian fortress built by magic and arcane arts now lost to the world. Stannis' garrison of 4,000 men was more than enough to repel my vastly superior army. Thankfully, Stannis' men were ill-prepared for a siege and was caught off guard. The battle was over as soon as it started and Stannis, his wife and daughter was in chains as well as his Red Priestess. Ser Davos Seaworth and Robert's bastard Edric Storm was already in the dungeons, imprisoned by Stannis himself.
With my godly powers, as I had done many times before in Essos, I controlled the minds of everyone at Dragonstone. Now with a foothold on the continent, I now began my full scale invasion.
I sent the now subservient Lord Stannis to Braavos with a shipload of gold to repay the Crown's debt and gain the allegiance of the Iron Bank. Ser Davos was sent to Sunspear with 100 ships to demand the loyalty of the vengeful Dornish.
Daenerys and Melisandre stood beside me in front of the Painted Table as I consider my next move.
King's Landing the capital of the Seven Kingdoms was the most obvious target and was garrisoned with the bulk of the Lannister-Tyrell forces. If I threw my might in a single offensive, the city would fall in mere hours. However in a moment of madness, Joffrey could kill the captive Sansa Stark as well as unleash wildfire on the entire city.
Casterly Rock was the seat of Lannister power. Despite its empty gold mines, taking the capital of the Westerlands will surely deal a massive blow to the morale of the Lannister army. In addition, I could join forces with the King in the North. Robb Stark the Young Wolf was already in the Westerlands harrassing the Lannister forces hoping to draw Lord Tywin into open battle.
However, a true king protects the realm and while the War of the Five Kings were raging, Mance Rayder and his 100,000 strong wildling army was marching on the Wall. Aiding the Night's Watch may prove to the proud lords of the North that I am much more than just a conqueror and I was sure to find plenty of wild Northern girls to keep my bed warm.
