Down a dirt road

"It appears we are just off the main road to the city. This is what I get for trying to take a shortcut," Mark tells the girls, verbally kicking himself for putting two of country's youngest, biggest stars in harm's way.

"Aw, Mark. Don't beat yourself up too bad," Tae sweetly tells him, having always had a crush on him, while Maddie looks out the bus window and sees what she thinks is a fishing hole through the trees at the end of the road.

"Girls, I don't think it's safe out there for the two of you. Maybe you should just stay here with me and pass the time while I wait on the tow truck to get here," he tells them, hoping to get somewhere with at least Tae as she continues to tell him not to beat himself up too much.

"Thanks for the offer Mark, but I think we'll go test out these new rods and see if we get any bites," Maddie tells him, Tae bounding over to her best friend and joining her as they grab their fishing poles and head off the bus.

Mark promised to keep them informed of when the bus would be fixed as he watched them go in matching brown shorts, Tae's much shorter than Maddie's, and matching white t-shirts and head for the hidden little lake.

"Kind of nice to be off the bus. At least that sleazy Mark won't be mistaking my kindness for sexual interest in him anymore," Tae tells Maddie as they take off their shoes and sit on the wooden pier with their toes in the water, seeing a boat full of shirtless hunks approaching them.
