Chapter 10 by si91 si91

What's next?

Dorne

"It would be for the best if we made for Dorne," Elia Martell declares.

"Because your family is there?" you assume.

"That, and there is something there that requires my attention," the Dornish princess replies. She does not say anything more than that. You do not feel the need to press her for further clarification, as it is probably none of your business.

At any rate, Princess Elia orders the captain to sail for their homeland, and he acknowledges and executes the order. Thus begins the long voyage south.

You note that this vessel is not especially large. Living space is a little tight. Each member of the crew has to room with at least two others. In fact, the captain is the only one who has his own quarters. However, he relinquishes those quarters for Princess Elia and her children, and he instead sleeps in the officers' cabin with the other officers.

Due to his size, Aerion has to stay down in the cargo hold. You are content to sleep down there with him, but the princess insists that you deserve better than that, and she offers to share the captain's cabin. It only takes you a few seconds to accept her offer.

When you get to the captain's cabin, you discover there is only one bed. A quite large bed, but still only one. It goes without saying that the princess and her children will sleep there. When it's time to turn in for the night, you'll just find yourself a corner of the room and settle down there. You are used to that routine, after all. Of course, the princess may have other ideas... Even so, you are not going to give your hopes up.

For the time-being, your greatest concern is finding a way to pass the time. For now, you sit on a chair against the wall and read a book. It is a fairly interesting book about the legendary Nymeria Martell. SHE certainly seems like someone who would have made a fine motherly figure. If only you could have been around then!

Oh, well. You suppose you'll find a way to make do.

While you read, Princess Elia tends to her children. Based on the smell, eighteen-month-old Aegon has soiled himself. Fortunately, the odor does not linger for very long; Princess Elia swiftly undresses her son, changes him into fresh nappies, and puts the soiled ones into a bag. After that, she turns her attention to three-year-old Rhaenys. She lifts up her daughter's dress and asks "How are you, sweetheart?"

At that moment, you happen to look up from your book. You discover that Rhaenys is diapered, too. That is surprising; normally, a girl her age would already be trained to use the chamber pot.

"I'm dry, Mummy," the little girl claims proudly. Her mother checks her padding, anyway. After pressing her hand against the front of Rhaenys's diaper, Elia grins and announces "Yes, you are. Good girl."

Rhaenys giggles at her mother's praise. Meanwhile, you turn your attention back to your book. Before you can keep reading, though, Princess Elia says "Alright, you two; feeding time."

In response, you gaze up again, and Princess Elia is in the process of removing her top. Your eyes widen in shock. Has she forgotten you are here? Or maybe she doesn't care if you see this much of her? You knew Dornish women were less reserved about showing their bodies than most other women, but still...

Anyway, Princess Elia takes Rhaenys and Aegon in her arms, and she brings each of them up to one of her breasts. They both latch on and suckle hungrily. So, she really breastfeeds them at this age, too? That is... intriguing.

You try to go back to reading your book, but it is difficult to focus. The sounds of the Targaryen children nursing off their mother and the slight gasps she makes are very distracting. The latter is also a little enticing.

Fifteen minutes later, Princess Elia finishes feeding her son and daughter. She burps both of them, and then she lays them on the bed and begins to tickle them playfully. They giggle in enjoyment.

You have hardly moved at all since this began. Before, you did not know what to think. Now... you simply find yourself incredibly envious of Aegon and Rhaenys. You let out a sigh of frustration.

Somehow, Princess Elia must have heard your sigh. She stops tickling her children, looks up at you, and asks in concern "Is everything alright, Brynden?"
