Denise picked up her cards. She had gotten:

Pair of Jacks, Ace-High. Probably not a winning hand, but good enough to keep her from having the low hand. As Denise asked for 2 cards (discarding the 9 & 4), she took stock in Tony & Bev.

Both were very good-looking. Denise had been told they were personal-fitness trainers, & they looked it. Tony looked like a poster boy for a California 'surfer dude,' with his dirty blonde locks, tanned skin, blue eyes, & very-buff body. Bev was a tiny little thing, all of 5'1 or 5'2", & made Denise think of her as a Latina version of Jessica Simpson, complete with impressive bustline, long, dark wavy hair, & sparkling personality.

Denise got another Ace, giving her 2 pairs. Bev won this hand, with 3 7s, & Tony had the losing hand again. Tony quickly shed his jacket to some good-natured whistling from Bev & Denise, before Bev dealt out the next hand.
