Five-hundred dollars!? “Deal!” you answer.

“Fantastic! I’m Tom by the way, and this is Julie. Just follow us back to our van, and we’ll drive straight to our headquarters in Saffron City.”

Their headquarters is in Saffron? How convenient! You can get a ride to your destination, make five-hundred dollars, and beat the Gym Leader, all in the same day. That’s efficiency! You climb into the back of their van, and away you go.

Along the way, you make as much small talk as you can between filling out paperwork from Julie. And by small talk, you mean a constant barrage of questions about their other inventions. It turns out these guys also make potions, and they even make those annoying discs all the Gym Leaders keep trying to give you. Silph Co. is amazing!

Once you arrive, Tom holds his ID up to a card reader and Julie enters while loudly announcing, “Welcome, Emilia, to the official Silph Co. Headquarters!”

Perception Check: Failed!

Silph Co. must be a very busy place. The room is alight with activity, including many people in black uniforms rushing through various doorways dotting the outside of the lobby. Oh… and now it’s very quiet.

The researchers guide you to an elevator, which takes you several floors up. When the doors open, you’re in a very small chamber with two doors in front of you, and no hallways leading anywhere else. Julie guides you into the left door, while Tom goes into the right door, labeled ‘Authorized Personnel Only’.
